The Lord is My Shepherd

Jesus is a shepherd to us for we are His sheep. We need His care and guidance in the world. There are so many pitfalls in this world to watch out for. I know He has taken me through many dangers in the world, and today’s verses should give us peace knowing He is looking out for us.

One Sunday, after church, I stopped and bought pizza for lunch at this pizza place I have been to in my neighborhood for 18 years. The owner got out of line with me and locked me in his store. I was so afraid, I did not know what to do. He took a hold of me and would not let me go. I stopped to pray and ask Jesus for help; at that moment the owner let me go. He wanted to see me more and would let me leave now without hurting me if I promised him I would come back. I agreed so he would let me leave. Then he unlocked the door, and I ran out. I was safe again, thank you, Jesus! My friend did deal with this issue and told him not to touch me again. I never went back to that store again, and I had nightmares for 6 months. I could have been raped that night if it was not for Jesus’s care. I share my personal stories to help other people learn of God’s love and how He cares for us all the time, to encourage those that are hurting and think they are alone; He is always there.

If you would like to know more about me and my personal testimony, I wrote a book, "He Did It for Me,” which can be found at the My Book tab above. Thank you for reading my blog.

Psalm 23:1-6

1- The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2-He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

3-He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

4-Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5-You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

6-Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Matthew 6:26

[Jesus said] “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
