Let Our Minds be as Jesus

Today’s verses give us insight into Jesus’ character. We are to follow His example in our own life and learn to submit to His will, not our own. If you struggle to submit to Him every time God speaks to you about adjusting your life to His will, ask the Holy Spirit to help you have the same selfless attitude as Jesus.

I had to learn to put my attitude at the foot of the cross and let Him lead me in His direction, not my own, even when I thought I was right. He knows everyone’s heart; He sees the bigger picture we cannot see, so trust Him and follow His will. Just as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:22, “to the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak” I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” We are to try and reach as many people as possible with the gospel. We can still maintain our core identity and commit to Christ, but we must be willing to adjust our approach and behaviors depending on the situation and the people involved, all for the sake of Jesus’ love for others. The easiest way to describe it is to just let Jesus’ love flow through you. When I got saved, that is one of the gifts He gave me, and it penetrates through my heart with love for all mankind. That love makes my heart weep with desire to reach out and help others, showing them the love of the Father.

John 5:30 (Jesus trusting and obeying His Heavenly Father)

“I can of Mine own self do nothing’ as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just; because I seek not Mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent Me.” He is trusting and obeying.

John 17:4 (Jesus showing His dedication to glorifying His Heavenly Father)
