Let it Stay in the Past

So many times satan plays with our minds and brings us back to remember our past; but today’s verses show us that Jesus has forgotten it and makes us a new person in Him. The past lays behind, and we are to walk into our future with Jesus walking alongside of us, for He goes before us and makes the crooked road straight. Satan wants to drag us down with his lies, so if we fall, it will hurt Jesus. But that is not so, Jesus forgives us all the time!

There was a time in my own life that I listened to liars and became very down and lonely. I was newly saved in the Lord and had a lot to learn. I thought He left me alone, and I was afraid. As the days went on, I kept on praying and asking Him where He was. He was just testing me to see if I would still follow Him no matter what, as Job, not knowing the test was to bring me into the next part of my life to work for Him. I had to learn to keep looking upward, not around me, and walk in faith, not by sight. I was looking at other people and He said, “all that glitters is not gold.” I saw those being happy, with husbands and nice homes, but we do know what goes on behind closed doors. It was difficult for me being a babe in the Lord because I felt that I was serving Him, so where was my happiness? I had to learn to hold on, joy comes in the morning; and it did.

I never thought that He would call me to write a book on my life, to be used to glorify Him; what a privilege He chose me. I still cannot believe it, even with all my flaws He still loves me and uses me for His glory. Thank you, Lord.

Philippians 3:13-14

13-Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

14-I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 43:18-19

18- “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.

19-Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness; I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have beheld, all things have become new.

Psalm 103:12

As far as the east if from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22- Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

23- They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Ephesians 4:22-24

22-That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust,

23-and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

24-and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in righteousness and true holiness.
