God our Father and Jesus His Son
Today’s verses are meant to help us to understand the unique roles of God and Jesus, which can also help us understand and have a closer relationship with them. God, the Father, is often seen as the Creator and Sustainer, while Jesus, the Son, is the Redeemer who came to save humanity.
I was 25 years old, 5 months pregnant, and already had two younger children when my husband died a sudden death. It was only the power of God that took me and my children through this tragic time in our life. I talk more about this in my testimonial book, “He Did It For Me,” available at the My Book tab above, but that truly was when He carried me and my family through. My Heavenly Father is a good and caring father. I want to give Him all the glory and praise for His tender loving care right up to this very hour! I am so grateful for Him and His Son, Jesus.
Let us continue in prayer and get to know them better, by studying the Bible and searching the Word with a humble heart. You will find as you open the door of your heart the Father will enter in with His love and reveal His Son in His fullness of Their joy, not as the world gives joy but a deep satisfaction of peace that can only come from above. Call on Him, He is there waiting for you with open loving arms to receive you.
John 14:6-7 (tells of the close relationship between Father and Son)
6-Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7-If you really know Me, you will know My Father as well; from now on, you do know Him and have seen Him.”
John 1:1-2 (identifies Jesus [the Word] as both distinct and one with God)
In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
John 10:30 (tells of the unqiue unity between them)
[Jesus said] "I and the Father are one.”
John 3:16 (tells of God sacrifice for the gift of salvation through Jesus)
[Jesus said] “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
