Being a Good Witness unto Our Heavenly Father
As we walk through our life, we must walk in love towards everyone. There is so little of love being spread through this world nowadays. The world is so hard and callous-hearted. We are to be as the good Samaritan and help our brother in need because someday it could be you who needs help. Today’s verses speak to being a good witness as this brings glory to God, so let us have compassion on one another.
It reminds me of Luke 10:25-37, which tells of a man badly beaten and stripped of his clothes. No one stops to help him but one good Samaritan comes upon him, sees his injuries and takes him to an innkeeper to take care of him and even pays for his welfare. Jesus expects us to do the same as the good Samaritan. This parable teaches us to love and care for others, regardless of their background or circumstances. It is a good example of how to be a good witness unto Jesus by showing compassion and kindness as our Father in Heaven has shown to us through salvation. Amen!
There was a time in my life that I was crying out for help, I didn’t know which way to turn. I had four children to guide and take care of. I married very young and sometimes I still felt like a baby myself. But, here I was, head of a household, widowed, and scared. I was alone and had no one to turn to but Jesus. At those times it’s important to have a good Christian friend that will help you to walk through the rough paths in life because satan makes you start to question your own decisions. Jesus did send me a good friend, Samaritan, who stood by me through thick or thin, that I could trust and depend on to share my burdens and not spread gossip. We are definitely sisters in Christ, and I thank the Lord for her! Life can be hard, but we must remember that Jesus is still there to carry us through.
