Spiritual Failure!
Today’s verse from Psalm is a repentance prayer from King David after he realized his sins. It is a prayer for renewal and a fresh start with God. King David is asking God to cleanse his heart and renew his spirit so he can become close to God once more. He needed God’s mercy so he needed to repent of his sins so his heart could be cleansed once more. He wanted to be in God’s fellowship; he needed to know he was in right standing with his Lord through mercy and love, as Jesus forgives us all when we have a repentful heart. We need God to restore and strengthen our spiritual life. We are to return to God every time when we fail because God is faithful and merciful to His children. He knows we are made of dust.
There have been times where I failed the Lord. I had to learn of His forgiving me because I would punish myself by praying more or reading my Bible more and all He wanted was for me to repent and do it no more. Through the years I learned of God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. Today’s verses serve as a comforting reminder that in times of failure, He is our strength.
Through the years I watched Christians bury their wounded, but I learned that is not right. We are to help each other through to victory. God is merciful. We have all sinned; no, not one is righteous. Our righteousness is as filthy rags before the Lord. Continue in pray and supplication for He hears and sees every tear. He is our Heavenly Father; what father ignores his child's cry? We are made of flesh and blood, we have not arrived to perfection; only in Heaven will that occur. Jesus was the only perfect man that walked this earth. He died that we can be forgiven no matter what our sins may be. Go to Him now, He is waiting for your call, as our Heavenly Father is Love and Forgiveness always! Thank you, Lord!
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness,” therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
