A Sweet Smelling Savior

One of our verses for today is Ephesians 5:2, which tells of how Jesus was a sacrifice to God for us. Jesus was hung on the cross for our sins, that we may be cleansed and purified. He made Himself a living sacrifice to take away our sins. Our Heavenly Father was pleased, for Christ’s loving sacrifice for you was like sweet perfume to Him. Just as Mary opened her alabaster box and gave herself to Jesus, we are to open ourselves and give it all to Him. As she gave Him her sins, she was cleansed from that moment on and lived as a servant unto Him. Jesus wants us devoted to Him so we may have His blessing to walk on this earth. He walked on the earth 100 percent man; He put his deity on the side, for a time. He truly understood how hard it is to walk this earth, He was tempted just as we are tempted. But there is hope in Him and in His Word! Psalm 119:103, our other verse for today, still rings true for me to this day saying, “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! For me reading the Bible is just like that, I cannot get enough of it. I am like a deer panting for water. How sweet are the words unto my taste? Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Thank you, Jesus, that You choose me to bring forth Your loving kindness through Your word.

Ephesians 5:2

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling Savior.

Psalm 119:103

How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
