Hold on to Truth
Holding fast to the truth involves a fight of faith, staying true to God’s calling and the confession of Christ. We are to be careful because satan and the world would like to take truth away from us, as he did to Adam and Eve, because he hates truth. To conquer this, we must stay in prayer and read the Bible which will lead us into all truth. The world would criticize you for your moral stand. Today’s verses emphasize the importance of truth, and beseech us to hold on to it, abstaining from every form of evil because it will rob us in our walk with the Lord if we do not. Satan watches us and as we do good for the Lord, he will attack our work; so keep the breastplate of truth on and go forward when the Holy Spirit speaks truth. Keep your eyes on the Lord, don’t look back once He has spoken to your heart. A devotional book I once read had a poem on truth that has always stayed with me.
It read,
Men may misjudge your aim, think they have cause to blame,
Say, you are wrong;
Keep on your quiet way, Christ is the Judge, not they,
Fear not, be strong.
In my own life I had much opposition. I have a tender heart and never want to hurt anyone, but God was calling me on His path. People around me did not like it; they had much to say, but I went to the Lord in prayer, checking the spirits to make sure what was of God because I never want to offend the Holy Spirit. One day, someone bought me a Bible course. The Lord spoke to me, letting me know that I was on the right track by speaking into my heart, ensuring me it was Him who was directing me through the Bible. I was grateful for the confirmation because I had to know for sure or I would have not pursued the road He put me on. This was many years ago, and I follow Him still to this day. This is where He has brought me: writing my testimony through a published book and this personal blog so that it might glorify Him.
Some people say I am too honest, but is there such a thing? If I don’t speak the truth, then I am a liar, hurting my walk with my Heaven Father. The most important thing to me is not to hurt or offend Him. I am not perfect, just forgiven; none are, only Jesus. For me, I just try hard to keep the Word hidden in my heart so as to not offend the Lord. We all make mistakes and fall; the important thing is that we get up again in repentance and move on. I hope those reading have been helped through these blogs, they come from my heart. Love you all and hope to see you in heaven.
