Be As a Child

Today’s verses emphasize the humility, trust, and purity of heart, as is a child, that are required to enter God’s kingdom. In being this way our hearts are more opened to Him. When Jesus came to me and asked me if I wanted to get saved; He did not command me, but asked me in great love. “Do you want to continue in your life of sin or come out of this world and live for Me?” He said, “But you are to go on the road I chose for you.” I knew at that moment I wanted to go His way in blind trust. Yes, through the years I became afraid, and He had to reassure me that He was there guiding me even if I did not understand. Hindsight has built my faith even more, seeing He was right all along. I had to have a child's faith to just trust and obey. I am so happy that even when people didn’t understand and talked bad about me, He comforted me by confirming the actions He wanted me to take were of Him. I could not always explain to my family, but the outcome was good. Sometimes I would worry about my children, and I had to learn to trust that He was with them, guiding them towards right. As they grew older, they would share how they knew Jesus was with them. Our flesh is weak but Jesus said that is when I am the strongest. Thank you, Jesus, for taking care of us all, all the time. I give you all the praise and glory.

Matthew 19:13-15

13-Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

14-But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for O such is the kingdom of Heaven.”

15-And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

Matthew 18:3

And [Jesus] said, “Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.”

Mark 10:14-15

14-But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, “Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.

15-Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”

Luke 18:16-17

16-But Jesus called them unto him, and said, “Let the little children come unto Me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.

17-Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

Luke 10:21

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, “I thank thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them unto babes; even so it, Father; for so it seemed good in the sight.”
