Amazing Grace
The day I got saved I was listening to a rock station and the song Amazing Grace came on the radio. My friends were over, all smoking pot. I just sat there and listened to that song. Jesus spoke to me about salvation, if I wanted to be saved. He said, “Do you want to continue in your sinful life or give it to Me? But if you give Me your life, you must do as I lead you through life.” At that very moment I fell in love with Jesus and obeyed His commands the best I could.
I would always pray for Him to examine my heart, for I know it is “desperately wicked” as the Word says; and through the years I would shed my flesh to be more like Him. Many times, when He showed me what was wrong in my heart, I was so surprised and asked Him to cleanse my life. We are all sinful from the fall of Adam, but Jesus died on calvary so our sins would be cleansed away if we repent and give our lives to Him. I am so glad He chose me, for one year later I lost my husband. Two weeks before he died, Jesus appeared to me and said, “Fear not, I will hold you with My right hand.” At that time, I was not sure what He meant. As time went by, He taught me what it meant and He did carry me, my children, and the family through. I was five months pregnant which just made matters worse. I write these words down so maybe one day someone in need can know they are not alone. Jesus is always there for us. I love you, Jesus!
