What is Hope?
Biblical hope is a confident expectation in God's promises, even when they may not be fulfilled immediately. I have a favorite expression and always remind myself that, “Jesus said it, I believe it, that settles it!” and then I move on. Satan will come in with doubts, and I do not want to give him an inch because he will take a foot, as the old saying goes. Plus, victory comes a lot sooner than we may think. Stand firm because satan goes around like a hungry lion seeking whom he can devour when we entertain his lies. Stand on God's word with praise and thanksgiving for all He has done for us, salvation being the biggest one. So many things can occur in a day to rob us of our faith and lose our victory and joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength, so don't look around you at the trouble, but rather, look up to the Trouble Fixer. Take one day at a time, for tomorrow will have problems of its own. It will be a new day to meet Jesus and fellowship with Him. He will fill you with peace and joy that only He can give you, even in the most difficult of circumstances. Romans 15:13 says, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
