Protection

Today’s verses encompass Psalm 91 in its entirety; it promises protection and safety from harm. Some days in my life I asked Jesus, “Was I a good enough mom? Did I do enough? Should I have tried harder?” I was doing the best I could at the time, but I felt it wasn't enough to meet their inner needs; Jesus showed me only He could meet them. There wasn’t enough time in my days to do all I had to do. My job was no help, my boss was always on my back, threatening to fire me and I needed that job to take care of my children. I was so torn between being away from home and the children. I wasn’t making much money, so I had to work long, hard hours. I also wanted to stay at this job because it was only 5 minutes from my home, in case the kids needed me. I felt like such a failure. I did not want to be a working mom. I believe that the family comes first, and how was I going to guide them being absent so much? It wasn’t easy to raise four children alone; many nights I cried myself to sleep. They were young so they didn’t understand or realize that, but that didn’t stop my heart from hurting from so many events I missed. Thank Jesus for pulling my family together in His love for one another and doing what I could never have done. He gave me a miracle I had prayed for years, which down the line came to pass. Every day when I made their beds, I would open the bible to Psalm 91 and claimed it for my family. I knew that praying for our family works, and I put my trust in Him to answer my prayers: He did it for me, He will do it for you. He is no respecter of persons; He died for us all. Jesus will do it for you when you pray. It may take a while, but He will answer! What wonderful God we have. In reading today’s verses, I pray that these inspiring words penetrate your heart through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. I love you all.

Psalm 91: Abiding in the Shadow of the Almighty

-He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

-I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

-Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilences.

-He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

-You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,

-Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

-A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.

-Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.

-Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place,

-No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

-For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

-They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

-You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

-“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

-He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

-With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”
